Bucket List #15 Make a first attempt at taking portraits

While staying with Jenn, she talked her brothers into letting me taking pictures of them. They are both hansom young men, which helped, and after Jenn persuaded both them and I to give it a try, we ended up with some ok shots. I am shy about taking pictures of people, but Jenn encouraged me that all I needed was a bit of practice. So here are the images of my first attempt at portraits, and one more thing I can cross of my 20's bucket list.

I still have a lot to learn, and am realizing that the best way to get good pictures of anyone, is to have fun with it, and encourage a real positive energy. I will have to improve greatly on my people skills before I ever get any great shots, but this experience was a good start.

Those are great! I love the one with the brother in the suit and the dog. You could tell the brother was more relaxed with the dog and the dog was loving the snuggle time!
Your people skills are fine, but Uncle Lynn doesn't like to take portraits either. I think I have heard the key is to make the subject feel relaxed...and yes I am sure Jenn is right ...the more you practice anything the better you become at it.
