I have not blogged in a long time, things have been busy. One of the things that has kept me busy was a trip Mom and I made to CA to see Nan, and help her with some of her health concerns. While there, Mom and I were able to take some time to visit the Sacramento Temple, and check another thing off my Still in my 20's Bucket List.
It is an especially beautiful small temple. Its decor is different than any other temple I have been in before. The first thing I noticed was the silver steeple.
As we approached I noticed the compasses in the sidewalk, and in a beautiful mosaic in the floor inside of a compass surrounded by a vine.
As you can see in the picture I took of the door, there is a continuing theme of vines. I assume it is in reference to John 15:1 ("I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.") and John 15:5 ("I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.")
We only had time to do initiatory work, but I hope to go back and do an endowment session and see more of this beautiful and sacred building.
