SpRiNg TiMe!
This last weekend we went to J's parents house. Because J's was moving to his new schedule (he now has Sun-Mon-Tues off) he had a four day weekend. We had a very nice time with his parents, and each evening after dinner we played a game. Sunday we all watched conference together. Monday J and W went trap shooting at the local range, while M and I went to my favorite little shops there in Sequim and we got all we needed for our gardens this year at Sunny Farms. I was able to get my seed potatoes, and onion starts, along with other seeds meant to grow well in our area. I got carrot, spinach, and lettuce seeds, and a rosemary start. I plan to continue to try to grow and dry some of my own herbs this year. Today I got all but the potatoes and carrots planted and my patio all cleaned up. I am loving that it is spring, even if we don't have sunshine yet. Just seeing the new growth and flowers gives me hope that at some point we may have clear skies again. As you can see in the picture I posted at the top, Tuesday we worked on M's garden. While J and I were weeding it for her on Monday we noticed that most of the wood was rotten and needed replacing, so Tuesday J and I replaced the worst of it. Even though things were very soggy and muddy, the rain held off the whole time we were working on it. It was a nice trip, and a great way to welcome in the new season. Maybe I will take a picture of my patio and post it once things get growing.
