8th Anniversary

August 21st was our 8 year wedding anniversary. We decided to do a little camping trip, and when Mom heard this she offered the use of their truck and camp trailer. We took them up on the offer and drove to the ranch on the 18th, went to church the 19th, and stayed at a campsite along Lake Cle Elum the night of the 19th and 20th.

Monday the 20th we attempted to do some fishing, but didn't have much luck. The little boat we were in was too small for Lake Cle Elum, so we took it to Cooper lake just up the road. We still had no luck, but felt much more safe being out of the wind so the white-caps weren't splashing into the boat.

We couldn't have a campfire because of a large wildfire burning at the next town over, so we found a deck of cards in the trailer and attempted to play games. We couldn't remember how to play any two person games except Go Fish, which is none too exciting, so to spice it up instead of saying 'go fish' we had a name a kind of fish. We quickly burned through the common names and it ended up being the most fun game of fish I have probably ever played.

We had a nice little get-away, and as always, enjoyed having some time together. I especially enjoy any time we can get when we are on the same schedule. By the way, J's shift bid came back and he has the same shift for the next 6 months as he had before: 4/10 graveyard, with Sun, Mon, Tues off.
