A Date

Yesterday J and I went on a date. I planned a pick nick dinner in the gorge. We enjoyed our drive and stopped at a lot of little places along the way.

Gold finch on thistle at a bird preservation.

You can see Multnomah Falls in the background. We are in WA and it is across the river in OR

For our wedding we were given this pick nick backpack kit, and it has been fun to use. If anyone is ever looking for wedding gift ideas, this is a great one. We ate our dinner along the river near Boniville Dam. It was a nice spot, and the only place we could find that didn't require either a Northwest Forest Pass or a Discover Pass. I asked J what a Discover Pass was and he said the government discovered another pass to charge people for.

There were lots and lots of bunnies. They were fun to watch chasing each other and munching the grass.

Right when we were packing up to go a very loud air siren went off. We are not sure why it was going off, but the bunnies went into hiding and we heard a few coyotes very near by call back at it.

I am still learning how to use the video setting on my camera, sorry it is not very good.

We headed back to the city and we continued our date with a 3D showing of Harry Potter.

Ejee, you and J crack me up! Here's a word riddle for ya'... preservation - as in jam or jelly, reservation - as in Indian,
and sanctuary - as in bird. :)
By the way - I like the new blog, and your pictures are great - as usual. - Mom

Mom, where you laughing at me for using "preservation" in relation to birds?? I just thought that is what it was called. You made me go looking, I googled it. There is the International Council for Bird Preservation, and this next sentence was one of the first things to pop up. "The rise of the bird-preservation movement at the end of the 19th century was in response to..." So I am not the only one who has ever used it that way. Ha ha ha. Thanks for keeping me on my toes!

And thanks again, I am glad you like the new blog and my pictures. I am still working on the banner and making my blog look the way I want. I don't know HTML and that makes it interesting to fine tune. I wish I could just copy and paste in all the elements I like. It is a fun way to learn how to do stuff though.
