Noting Like Old Friends

A few weeks ago my long time friend L came to visit for the weekend. We mostly just wanted to hang out catch up, but we did have a little cheep fun too. Because we live near some wealthier homes our Goodwill thrift store rocks. It is very clean and the book selection is fantastic. The prices are not always the lowest but you can get some good deals if you look. L bought two name-brand leather purses, $7 ea. We also checked out a new store down the road from us called New Seasons that I had never been to. It is like a posh Whole Foods, and most everything was overpriced, but the did have a citric tasting table that was amazing.

The table was set up with sour on one end, quats, limes, lemons, then it went to tangerines, oranges and mandarins, then grapefruit and pomelos. I have never tried so may different kinds of citric in my life as I did that day.

We especially liked trying the different kinds of Quats. I think the Mandarinquat was my favorite.  If you click on the picture you can see all the labels. They even had info about each one. I haven't been back to the store yet to see what other kinds of thing they do, maybe we just lucked out to be there on the one day they had something going on. We finished off our lunch by trying samples at Costco while I did my shopping. It was a very random day, but we had a great time together. The two of us have always been able to have fun doing anything, even the dirtiest jobs, and it is always great to have a girls day.

The two of us on "garbage-run" overall one of our favorite and most memorable days.
L also brought a thumb-drive with pictures she scanned from the old days working together at the ranch. We had a lot of fun going through them.
