Health Update

I just wanted to let everyone know that I had my last doctor's appointment (for a while anyway) with my Neurology specialist this week. She said that from my tests it is obvious that I have some form of muscle disease, but until it, or medicine, progresses there really isn't any way for them to tell me what kind it is. This also means they can't treat it. They have offered to help me find a medication to help control the pain, and are willing to prescribe different medications to try to alleviate symptoms, but for now that is all they say they can do for me.
I am glad to know where the problem is, and that I will have a break from actively navigating the nightmare that is the medical system. I am also very glad to be done with all the tests, blood work, appointments, and bills. I have had a hard time excepting that this isn't something that can be treated. To go through the doctors and tests that I have, I had to have a lot of hope that they would eventually figure it out, now that they can't, I am having to adjust my attitude, goals, and expectations. Everything is well, however, and it is nice that I can just move on with life now.
Everyone has been so supportive and kind, and I just want to thank you all for your love and prayers.

It's hard to know what to say to such a post, but I know you always try to find the silver lining on every storm cloud. Your statement though, "having to adjust my attitude, goals and expectations," is very profound. That concept really struck me.

Thank you for your update. Maybe we can get together for a visit this summer. It's been way too long.

And I have to add...the photo in your previous post of you and Jason...your eyes are spectacular! Love seeing your smiling faces. :)

Lacie, you are always so complimentary, I need 10 of you in my life! And yes, it has been WAY too long. I readily admit that I haven't done well with keeping up friendships this last year, and am trying to find the energy to do better. I think after girls camp I will be have more energy and we can do something then. It would be great if we could do a little day trip or something.
